3 Approaches for Time-Remapping in Adobe Premiere Pro

first_imgRate Stretch Tool1. Select the Rate Stretch Button or click the ‘R’ button2. Click and drag the in-point/out-point of your clipThe speed and duration will match any adjustments you make to the clip. It’s that simple. What method is your favorite for adjusting speed/duration in Premiere? Share in the comments below. Here are a few easy ways to adjust speed/duration in Premiere Pro.Whether you’re wanting to artistically manipulate time, or simply want to change the speed of a clip, the following 3 methods are an easy way to manipulate clip speed in Adobe Premiere Pro. All 3 methods take only seconds, but each one has it’s own benefits and disadvantages.First let’s tackle some of the semantics of time remapping:What is Speed?Speed is the rate at which a clip plays back usually displayed in percentages. For example, a clip that plays back at 200% is twice as fast as an unaffected clip. What is Duration?Duration is a measure of time from the in-point to the out-point. Whereas speed deals with playback, duration only deals with how much time a specific clip takes up in the timeline. Just because you adjust a clip’s duration does not necessarily mean you are adjusting the clip’s speed and vice-versa.The Speed/Duration Command1. Right-click your clip in the timeline & navigate to Speed/Duration.2. Select your desired command.3. Click okThe Speed/Duration Command consists of a few very easy to understand parameters and checkboxes. When Speed/Duration is linked, a speed percentage of less than 100% will slowdown playback and increase duration. Alternatively a speed percentage of more than 100% will speed-up playback and shorten the duration. You can link/unlink speed and duration by clicking the chain icon in the viewer. You can reverse clip playback by selecting reverse speed. Instead of having your audio sound like The Chipmunks (or the Tree Ents from Lord of the Rings!)  you can select ‘Maintain Audio Pitch’. Premiere will try to make your audio sound more natural when played back at a different speed. By selecting ‘Ripple Edit, Shifting Trailing Clips’ your adjacent clips will be moved in the timeline to match your changes.center_img Use Time Remapping1. Right-click on your clip and select ‘Show Clip Keyframes>Time Remapping>Speed’2. Increase your speedSimply drag the ‘Rubber Band’ on your clip up and down to increase/decrease the clip duration. You can Command+Click on a Mac or Control+Click on Windows to set keyframes. There are actually a lot of really cool ways to manipulate clip speed using this feature. The video tutorial below outlines a few helpful ways to use the Time Remapping Tool.3. Time-remapping can be keyframed in the Effects Panellast_img read more

BCCI lifts ban on Kapil Dev after he snaps ties with ICL

first_imgFormer Indian captain Kapil Dev was formally granted amnesty by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as its president N. Srinivasan welcomed the legend back to its fold on Wednesday.Kapil, who brought India’s first cricket World Cup in 1983, was the only player not to receive BCCI benefits due to his links with the erstwhile rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL). However, the board and the former cricketer worked out a compromise formula that ensured the latter’s return to the BCCI fold.Kapil met Srinivasan in Mumbai on Wednesday and after their final round of talks, the BCCI confirmed that they had buried the hatchet and were all set to resume links. The Haryana Hurricane had recently written to the board informing them of his resignation from the Essel Sports Private Limited-owned ICL. Kapil’s association with the ICL had severed ties between the two, with Kapil and Kiran More among the last two ICL cricketers who did not receive the one-time IPL benefit scheme. However, after More’s return to the BCCI fold, the board’s decision to grant amnesty to the legendary former captain was welcomed by many in the cricketing fraternity. The BCCI president issued a press statement announcing the latter’s “support” to the board.”The BCCI has received a letter from Mr Kapil Dev, former India captain. Mr Kapil Dev has informed the board that he has resigned from the Essel Sports Private Limited / ICL. He has also stated in the letter that he has always supported the BCCI and will continue to do so in the future. The BCCI acknowledges Mr Kapil Dev’s immense contribution to Indian cricket and looks forward to a fruitful association with him in the years to come,” the statement read.advertisementAs Kapil came out of the meeting, he looked happy by the BCCI decision. “BCCI is like a parent and we are like its children. Even during my earlier association, I have contributed for welfare of cricket and cricketers and even now I aim to do so,” he said. His patch-up with the board would ensure a one-time benefit payment of Rs 1.5 crore for the former skipper.last_img read more

‘Mourinho needs to fight on at Man Utd’

first_imgManchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been urged to fight on by the club’s former goalkeeper Mark Bosnich, despite reports of tension at Old Trafford.Dark clouds have started to gather over the Theatre of Dreams following Monday’s 3-0 loss to Premier League rivals Tottenham and Mourinho’s post-match rant.Mourinho, who suffered the heaviest home defeat of his career, demanded “respect” during a fiery news conference in which he reminded reporters he has won more Premier League titles than the division’s 19 other managers combined. Article continues below Editors’ Picks Man Utd ready to spend big on Sancho and Haaland in January Who is Marcus Thuram? Zlatan wasn’t even the best player in LA! It cast further doubts over Mourinho’s future amid reported tension with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward over transfers, but ex-Australia international Bosnich – a Premier League champion at United in 1999-00 – told Omnisport: “Every manager will have their frustrations, but there are always two sides to every story.”Regardless of what club you’re at, he who’s got the gold makes the rules. There’s only so much these people will say yes or no to. It would have happened to every manager.”Mourinho won two trophies in his first season and finished second last season. It’s not all bad, no matter what’s happening at the moment and people including him need to remember that.”But there’s a team called Manchester City who have an exceptional manager who has what he’s asked for. There’s been times before where he has made signings that haven’t worked out. And at the moment, United, like everyone else, are a bit in the shadow.”We’re talking about one of the best teams in Premier League history.”Mourinho, in my opinion, just needs to fight. If he wants to be there, which I’m sure he does. I don’t think you sign a five-year contract, especially someone like him, if you don’t want to be there.”It’s still early in the season. It’s not encouraging at all and we know that, but there’s still a long way to go. He has the firepower to make sure they have a good season.”The defeat to Spurs came after United suffered a shock 3-2 loss at Brighton. Next up is a trip to Burnley on Sunday. MS Dhoni 1st Indian to hit 200 sixes in Indian Premier League

first_imgMahendra Singh Dhoni became the first Indian to hit 200 sixes in the Indian Premier League on Sunday. He smashed a career-best unbeaten 84 from 48 balls but it as not enough as Chennai Super Kings lost a thriller against Royal Challengers Bangalore by 1 run at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Chennai skipper 7 sixes to take his tally of sixes to 203 in the all-time list of maximums in the IPL. Leading the list though are Chris Gayle (323) and AB de Villiers (204). The next best Indian on the list of most sixes in the IPL are Chennai’s Suresh Raina and Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma, who both have 190 sixes to their name. Dhoni, on Sunday, also completed 4000 runs captain in the Indian Premier League, after Virat Kohli.Dhoni has been in tremendous form with the bat in the 2019 season if the IPL, scoring 314 from 9 games and has already hit three half-centuries. He scored a and unbeaten 75 (his previous career-best before Sunday) to help CSK win by 8 runs at home and then in the reverse fixture in Jaipur, Dhoni scored 43-ball 58 as CSK won again by 4 wickets. On Sunday though, Dhoni could not take his team home.Chasing a target of 162, CSK needed a near-impossible 26 off the last over bowled by Umesh Yadav and Dhoni with 84 off 48 balls that had seven sixes showed that nothing is indeed impossible until the Cricketing Gods intervened.Only that Dhoni was at the crease and having consumed dot balls off the previous over, he had to go for the jugular and boy he did it with three sixes and a four.advertisementWith two needed off the last ball and Umesh looking increasingly helpless, he managed to bowl a slower delivery and Dhomi missed it only for Parthiv Patel to effect a run-out as non-striker Shardul Thakur inches out of his crease. After the match Dhoni reflected on the result, saying that it was “a good game”.”We did really well to restrict them to a below-par total, but we needed some good batting at the top. Once you know the opposition attack, you gotta stick to your plans and if you lose too many wickets upfront that puts pressure and the middle order really can’t go after the bowlers from the start,” Dhoni said at the post-match presentation.”We have to carefully see what are the areas we want to take that risk. It was still difficult at the end. It was slightly spungy (the pitch) and the new batsmen found it difficult. Boundaries were needed and yes we have lost by one run but at the same time we have to see what if there were few dot balls and whether we could have got those extra boundaries or not,” Dhoni added. Also Read | MS Dhoni career-best in vain, RCB beat CSK in thrillerAlso Read | MS Dhoni gave us a massive scare: Virat Kohli after RCB’s thrilling 1-run win over CSKlast_img read more
